NDB ranks among top 10 in Business Today Magazine’s Top 30
NDB Bank was recently ranked ninth amongst the Top 30 Corporates in Sri Lanka in its latest evaluation by Business Today Magazine.
The bank was honoured this position in recognition of the bank’s success during the relevant financial years.
Surpassing its position in the Top 30 from number 27 in 2016-17 to number 18 in 2017-18 to number nine in 201819, NDB was recognised for the it’s stable performance, steady organic growth, competitive strengths, innovative banking solutions and sustainability initiatives.
The bank recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, celebrating four decades of a full spectrum of financial solutions such as retail banking, small and medium enterprise (SME) banking, corporate banking, project and infrastructure financing, leasing, housing finance, cash management, correspondent banking, remittance services, margin trading, pawning, treasury and investment services, bancassurance and card operations.
May it be retail banking, SME financing, commercial or project lending which are commonplace products offered by other competitors as well, what distinguished NDB’S offerings from them is the ‘developmental orientation’ embedded in NDB’S offering. This has resulted in a unique proposition of ‘development oriented commercial banking’ for NDB, a fusion of its past and the present, which ensures sustained banking solutions to our customers.
NDB’S product offerings also extend to capital and investment banking products, delivered by the bank’s subsidiary entities. NDB’S presence is also established in Bangladesh via its overseas investment banking arm, NDB Capital Ltd, Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, NDB has been recognised by both local and international independent bodies, winning over 47 awards of excellence during the year 2019 alone. NDB was recognised as the ‘Best Domestic Bank in Sri Lanka’ for the first time by the Asiamoney awards held in Hong Kong.
NDB was also recently felicitated with three coveted awards at the inaugural Sri Lanka awards programme by the Asian Banker which recognised accomplishments that is specific to banks and financial institutions in Sri Lanka. The key product awards for Consumer Credit Product of the Year- Dream Maker Loans, Credit Card Product of the Year - Good Life Credit Card and the Best Branch Digitisation Initiative, Application or Programme for NEOS was obtained by the National Development Bank.
The Business Today Top 30, for 20182019 is an independent ranking of the country’s listed entities based on a comprehensive evaluation of an entity’s financial and non-financial performance for the financial years ended in December 2018 and March 2019 conducted with the assistance of KPMG Sri Lanka.
Business Today TOP 30 2018-2019 indicates the manner in which the banking and financial sector has performed even through challenging times. They have streamlined their strategies and processes to ensure that while the organisation performs the customers to benefit. The National Development Bank PLC has thus ranked the ninth position in this coveted list.
