BRIDE ASKS ALL FOUR OF HER GRANDMAS TO BE FLOWER GIRLS
Abride asked her four grandmothers to stand up for her on her special day by walking as flower girls in the wedding — and the four women even wore matching dresses for the event. Lyndsey Raby wanted her wedding in September to Tanner Raby be a special one for herself and her family, so she decided to bring in her four grandmothers for the day by walking as her flower girls.
‘I knew as soon as I was engaged I wanted to involve my grandmothers,’ the bride, who tied the knot in Benton, Tennessee, told Huffpost.
I felt so blessed to have them all here so I wanted them to be involved too,’ she added.
Adorable pictures showed the bride with her four grandmothers for the special day, and the women all matched in a blue sequined dresses with matching jackets.
The flower girls included the Lyndsey’s 90-year-old great-grandmother, Kathleen Brown; the bride’s 76-yearold grandmother, Wanda Grant; the bride’s 72-year-old grandmother, Betty Brown; and the groom’s 70-year-old grandmother, Joyce Raby.
To accessorize their light blue dresses, the four grandmothers carried a white wooden box to hold the flower petals they dropped when walking down the aisle.
Each of the boxes included a blue bow tied on the handle with ‘Here Comes The Bride’ painted in gorgeous script across the front in blue paint.
Photographer Natalie Caho first shared the image of Lyndsey surrounded by her grandmothers on her wedding day on her business’ Instagram page.
She wrote in her caption: ‘I’ve seen a lot of cute flower girls in my day...but these four gals take the cake.’
The picture caught the attention of the public who all enjoyed witnessing the heartfelt family moment.
‘She is so lucky to have all them still here, that pic is worth million $ beautiful,’ one commenter wrote on the Instagram picture.
Another person commented: ‘How sweet and precious.’ Most people were in agreement that the pictures between Lyndsey and her four grandmothers were ‘heartwarming’ and a ‘one-in-a-million’ moment between the women.
Lyndsey told the Huffpost that her grandmothers were all ‘ecstatic’ when asked to be her flower girls, giving the bride a reaction bigger than other people in the wedding party.
‘I do believe they were more excited than my bridesmaids,’ Lyndsey said.
Now Lyndsey hopes the viral wedding pictures will encourage other brides and grooms to include their grandparents on their own special day.
‘It means so much to them and it will mean so much more to you,’ she said.
