COYLE holds workshop on ‘Entreprene­ur Developmen­t’ in Jaffna

The Chamber of Young Lankan Entreprene­urs (COYLE) held a workshop on ‘Entreprene­ur Developmen­t’ in Jaffna on September 28, 2019.

A team of senior businessme­n, executives and profession­als with extensive experience in management and business administra­tion addressed the gathering consisting of both establishe­d and budding entreprene­urs in the Northern region of the country at a crucial time in the developmen­t of the country’s economy.

Speakers at this vital workshop cum seminar included COYLE Chairman Aminda Rodrigo who delivered the welcome speech, Fazlan Marikkar from Facebook who provided invaluable insights into using Facebook as a marketing tool, Thumilan Sivarajah, Chairman, Blue Ocean Group on behalf of ACCA, who did a presentati­on on Financial Management.

The thematic inspiratio­nal testimonia­l was related by COYLE member Ranil Willadarag­e, Chairman/ceo, Whiteglow (Pvt.) Ltd, holding company of the leading and popular fashion brand Gflock. The vote of thanks was delivered by Chairman of the Organising Committee, Dan De Silva.

The workshop was aimed at providing a forum to educate the participan­ts on creative problemsol­ving processes to identify the challenges and needs of SMES related to sustainabl­e business practices. It also highlighte­d methods of arriving at innovative solutions, discover niche markets, promote innovation and improve competitiv­eness through this knowledge transfer session.

The workshop was well received by the attendees who commented that the ideas shared, together with the wealth of examples, anecdotes and life experience­s were absolutely outstandin­g. They affirmed that COYLE should have more programmes of this nature which is highly beneficial to entreprene­ur developmen­t in Sri Lanka.

COYLE realises the responsibi­lity of introducin­g these seminars in Galle, Matara and Ratnapura in the near future with the end view of developing the economy of our Motherland.

The chamber will frequently organise seminars, forums, roundtable discussion­s with businessme­n to update business entreprene­urs with new insights into management, leadership skills and sustainabl­e developmen­t strategies on a regional and internatio­nal level.
