FIRST PLACE IN SONG COMPOSING
Sunanda Kodagoda won the First Place in Songs writing and Second Place in Open Poetry Segment in Maharagama Regional Literature Competition conducted jointly by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Maharagama Divisional Secretariat in concurrently with the National Literature & Art Festival.
Sunanda Kodagoda secured the First Places in Poetry & Songs writing and Second Place in Open Poetry Segment of Colombo District Literature Competition and in the Maharagama Regional Literature Competition of the last year too. This time he secured the First Place at Literature Competition for the song composed of “Kap Rukak Bandu Deshaye” and for poetry writing “Vihanga Udanaya”.
Sunanda Kodagoda being a poet, songs composer, journalist and veteran photographer, has gained several conquests in the fields of Literature and Photography on earlier occasions too. He currently serves as an Officer of National Carrom Selection Committee of Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka and as a Media Officer.
This time Literature Art Festival was held at the Auditorium of Maharagama Divisional Secretariat under the patronage of Mr Sunil Kannangara – Colombo District Secretary under the theme “Literature and Art for a blessed country filled with calm, cultured, intellectual, and pleasing people”.
The photos depicts the occasion of receiving gifts and certificates by Sunanda Kodagoda from Kalasoori Mr Sathischandra Edirisinghe – Veteran Film & Television Artist for the First Place in Song composing. Mr Sunil Kannangara – Colombo District Secretary, Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola – Divisional Secretary of Maharagama, Veteran Artist Nimal Jayasinghe, Veteran Author Mr Nihal Ranjith Jayathilake are also in the picture.
