CIPM appoints Dimuth Karunaratne as Brand Ambassador
CIPM Sri Lanka, the nation’s leader in human resource management, appointed Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Dimuth Karunaratne as its Brand Ambassador recently, to take CIPM’S value proposition to the masses.
Karunaratne, like CIPM, is a leader in his chosen career, which is the world of cricket, a sport close to the hearts of many in Sri Lanka.
The relevant document of understanding was signed at the media conference held recently to announce World HR Congress 2020, between CIPM Sri Lanka President Dhammika Fernando and Karunaratne, in the presence of media and invitees.
“We are happy to sign up Dimuth Karunaratne – a young and versatile cricketer and most importantly a leader who endeavours to take himself as well as his colleagues and teammates to the next level of performance and achievement in the international arena. CIPM Sri Lanka’s too is a leader in human resource management endeavouring to provide the relevant opportunities and knowledge to our stakeholders to take their careers and personal achievements to the international level,” said Fernando.
“Creating individuals who are not only successful today but who can envision and work towards a better tomorrow is a challenge, not only for organisations but for the nation as well. A successful leader should have distinct qualities that set him or her apart from the rest, with a clear vision for the future and a greater vision for the country. This is CIPM’S vision too and hence I believe that my involvement as the Brand Ambassador of CIPM will have a positive influence on their endeavours as well,” said Karunaratne.
Born in 1988, Karunaratne is a steady left hand opening batsman and a right arm medium pacer with the charisma of a leader. He possesses a calm and collected demeanour, which is translated to his cricketing abilities thereby bringing a sense of sanity that prevails during pressure situations for his team, which is a trait pivotal for any leadership role.
“CIPM has been the pioneering body in creating leaders who are ‘future-ready’, be it in the field of business or as a professional in an organisation. CIPM is the only chartered institute in Sri Lanka that is recognised internationally with the ability to guide you in your goal of reaching greater heights in the field of human resource management or professional management,” he added.
CIPM was founded in 1959 – incorporated by Parliamentary Act No. 24 of 1976, amended by Act No. 31 of 2018. CIPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Human Resource Management and to the World Federation of People Management Associations.
