THE NAKED FACE
The beauty world can be a pretty daunting place. Every day there seems to be a new way to do your eyeshadow, facial contouring, or a new technique for styling your hair, and with all of the new trends out there, it can be pretty intimidating for a girl to keep up. Even for the “I only spend 5 minutes on my face” ladies, there always seems to be a new issue popping up, like how to deal with frizzy hair in the humid weather ( but I shall save that for another article!)
Soft and glowy makeup being an ongoing trend, with heavy makeup being a thing of the past. Every once in a while we get bored of lipstick with a bold pop of colour like red, hot pink or orange. Sometimes, keeping things simple seems best and a nude lip is our best option. Lighter shades are your new neutrals, with a natural, fresh vibe that’s perfect for the season. A nude or soft pink lip should instantly flatter your skin tone and bring your dewy glow to life. The trouble is, nude lipstick can be just as tricky (if not trickier) to wear as a bright hue.
When we’re talking nude lipstick, we don’t mean one that has to be plain old beige. Nudes come in a wide variety of colours to pick from with hints of coral, blush and peach. Just like trying to hunt down the perfect red lip, finding your perfect nude shade can be tough. Unfortunately there’s no perfect formula for picking a nude shade it really is a matter of trying and testing. Don’t be disheartened if it takes some time or extra effort to get the perfect shade it’s worth it in the end.
Soft nudes and pinks really work well with any type of makeup look you are going for. You can virtually pair it with any eyeshadow look and it’s going to look soft and not overdone. It can be great during the day and even pair well with an evening look.
The most important thing to to remember when picking a nude, steer clear of cooler nude colours with grey undertones because they can make you look dull and washed out. Go for warmer beige and very light pink tones. The perfect neutral lip shade should flatter your skin tone and light up your face.
