NHRDC forum on ‘Defying retirement at 55 years’
The National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC) together with Mead Johnson Nutrition, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL), The International Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ICC), and Daily FT have organized a discussion forum on ‘Defying retirement at 55 years’.
The discussion forum will be held today at 8.30 a.m. at the Auditorium of The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Colombo 7.
This forum is aimed at identifying opportunities to get retirees back to work while enhancing their wellness, usefulness and fitness. The NHRDC expects this forum to create a discussion platform on how retirees can create a second career and decide whether returning to work would benefit.
High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Riaz Hamidulla will grace the event as the Chief Guest and Secretary Ministry of Highways and Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development Sunil Hettiarachchi will be the Guest of Honour. Dean and the Chairman of the International Institute of Health Sciences Dr. Nihal De Silva will deliver the keynote speech.
The event will be followed by a panel discussion with experts: Director of Mindfulness based Research of University of Sri Jayewardenepura Dr. Sanath Mahawithana, Founder/ Chairperson of Women in Management in Sri Lanka/ Maldives/canada Dr. Sulochana Sigera, Commissioner General of Department of Labour R. Wimalaweera, Chairman and CEO of Kaleidoscope Pvt Ltd Santosh Menon, Founder of Janashakthi PLC Chandra Schaffter, Director General and CEO of Employers Federation of Sri Lanka Kanishka Weerasinghe, General and Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Gotabhaya Ranasinghe, Director of Research of Institute of Policy Studies Dr. Nisha Arunatilake. Dinesh Weerakkody will be the moderator.
