WSO2’S Chakray gears up for growth in Asia-pacific region

-

WSO2 value-added reseller and premier certified integration partner Chakray has established a new delivery centre and sales office in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The opening of this new office comes at a time when WSO2 has experienced continued expansion in the Asia-pacific region.

WSO2 technology has been adopted by a wide range of industries spanning aviation, telecommunications, government, and banking in countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Philippines. The presence of WSO2 in Sri Lanka, the country’s innovative IT ecosystem, and the proximity to key regional markets influenced Chakray’s decision to base operations in Colombo.

Chakray began business operations in Spain in 2013 and its partnership with WSO2 extends over five years. The company has successfully delivered WSO2 technology-based solutions to a range of customers in the automotive, banking, education, government, retail, and telecommunications industries across Europe and Latin America.

Earlier in the year, Chakray’s proven expertise and multi-year partnership were recognised by WSO2 at the latter’s annual strategic kick-off for team members and key partners.

Explaining the company’s expansion plans further, Chakray CEO Javier Rul said: “As WSO2 continues to evolve its technologies to stay ahead of the curve, we must also evolve to reach new audiences and provide greater value and innovation in our solution delivery. We believe that technology can traverse international borders, but the relationship and cultural integration between Chakray and our customers must always be close. We are very excited about the potential of our new Asia-pacific delivery centre supporting our ‘Local. Everywhere.’ philosophy.”

Chakray APAC Managing Director Sudaraka Jayashanka said: “For much of my career, I have been working with WSO2 and collaborating with Chakray on a number of successful projects. When the opportunity came to establish this new regional presence and join the senior team at Chakray to help drive innovation, outcomes and to reach a wider audience, it was an easy decision. I have already put together an incredible local team of highly talented, experienced and energetic professionals, and we have already begun, at pace.”

Commenting on the partnership, WSO2 President and COO Shevan Goonetilleke said: “Our partnership with Chakray is one we value greatly and over the years, the team there has implemented WSO2 technology-based projects for a wide breadth of customers, helping these organisations achieve their digital transformation objectives. Chakray has also been a key driver of strengthening the WSO2 community.”

“With digital transformation being highly adopted by different industry verticals in the Asia-pacific and Australia regions, we believe that this partnership between Chakray and WSO2 will allow us to offer a broad range of technology services and forge ahead as technology solution providers to serve the rapidly growing economies across the Asiapacific region,” said WSO2 Sales Director and APAC General Manager Dilani De Silva.
