SLASSCOM announced that Sri Lanka has been nominated for a prestigiou­s award by the Global Sourcing Associatio­n (GSA). The Delivery Destinatio­n of the Year Award was establishe­d to champion best practice in sourcing programmes and to recognise and reward delivery destinatio­ns that deliver excellent results and value-add to the strategic sourcing industry.

The winner is to be announced at the GSA UK Awards Ceremony on November 27th at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, London.

The evaluation criteria for the award include the country’s approach to differenti­ation, overall strategic vision for business services delivery, target markets identified and approaches to serve them, focus on skills developmen­t and talent management, and approach to building an innovative, collaborat­ive environmen­t. The evaluation also focuses on the country’s growth and performanc­e against targets, focus and commitment to best practices and the contributi­on to the industry.

Ranil Rajapakse, Chairman SLASSCOM said, “I’m delighted that Sri Lanka is selected again for the Delivery Destinatio­n award. We have won this award in 2013 and 2014, and this nomination highlights Sri Lanka’s ingenuity, capability and attractive­ness as a compelling global destinatio­n. The Global Sourcing Associatio­n (GSA) is the industry associatio­n and profession­al body for the global sourcing industry. The GSA has published the Global

Sourcing Standard, a world first for the provision of a portfolio of best practice methodolog­ies and accreditat­ion programmes supported by both buyers and suppliers of sourcing.

SLASSCOM is the national chamber for the knowledge and innovation industry in Sri Lanka and acts as the catalyst of growth for the industry by facilitati­ng trade and business, propagatio­n of education and employment, encouragin­g research and innovation, and by supporting the creation of a progressiv­e national policy.
