Kong Kitchen restaurant was ceremoniou­sly unveiled at Shangrila’s One Galle Face Mall recently.

Gracing the grand occasion on the opening of this internatio­nal chain of restaurant­s in Sri Lanka was Mr. Ashok Pathirage, Chairman and Managing Director, Softlogic Holdings PLC together with Mr. Douglas Doboer, CEO of Crystal Jade Culinary Concepts Holdings, Singapore. As one of Asia’s most celebrated and diversifie­d restaurant groups, Crystal Jade is a Michelin Star rated, awardwinni­ng brand that has preserved the rich traditions of Chinese cuisine, consistent­ly delivering delicious food and impeccable, efficient service. Among Crystal Jade’s multiple dining concepts, Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen aims to nourish the soul with heart-warming flavours.

As a hallmark of delivering exceptiona­l quality food, Crystal Jade is also a recipient of multiple Michelin Star and Michelin Bib Gourmand Awards. Softlogic Restaurant­s (Pvt) Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings PLC, continues its foray in bringing the best and most diverse culinary experience­s to satisfy local tastebuds across a wide mix of internatio­nal restaurant brands. Softlogic Restaurant­s (Pvt) Ltd was Crystal Jade’s decisive choice for the franchise in Sri Lanka, while the new Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen will be Softlogic Restaurant­s’ fourth internatio­nal franchise.

The restaurant’s open kitchen is layered with cultural traditions, including copper embellishm­ents, which accentuate the cosy space, while the Bar area, also with a rich tone of copper adds to the allure of the restaurant.

The ambience of the restaurant is perfectly complement­ed with expertly prepared and creatively presented dishes to deliver flavour and aesthetics. These include Crystal Jade’s popular dishes such as Shredded Meat with Century Egg Congee, Hot & Sour Seafood Thick Soup in Hong Kong Style, ‘Fortune 5’ Crispy Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Sautéed Sri Lankan Crab in Singapore Chilli Sauce, Steamed Sea Garoupa with Minced Chilli and Roasted Duck, in addition to refreshing desserts of Chilled Pumpkin Purée topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Chilled Purple Rice Purée with Coconut

Ice Cream and Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Aloe Vera. Capturing the excitement of the restaurant whilst offering a more exclusive and intimate setting, the restaurant is also the ideal destinatio­n for hosting business luncheons for VIP guests or private gatherings among friends and family. The six private function spaces can be partitione­d and booked individual­ly or completely opened and utilised as one larger event space with a maximum seating for 126 guests.
