-

Mitra Innovation proudly celebrated its most glamorous event of the year, the Annual Mitra Gala 2019, which was held at the contemporary and dapper Stables, at Park Street Mews.

More than 200 staff members including Mitra newcomers and interns joined in on the fun, entertainment, food and drinks.

The gala commenced with a cocktail reception and a heartwarming welcome from Mitra Innovation Co-founder and Managing Director Dammika Ganegama, setting the stage for a fabulous evening. This incredible evening celebrated Mitra’s successes, where Mitra Innovation COO and Co-founder Derek Bell brought to light a set of values that defines Mitra’s culture, namely: heart, insight, dependability and creativity, stating firmly that this corporate family is without a doubt “Brighter Together”.

The presentation was followed by a delicious three-course dinner, the awards themselves, which honoured the Mitra employees who celebrated their fifth year at the organisation and fabulous raffle draws. The evening’s entertainment also featured the best dressed, a baila competition and wonderful prizes that included hotel stays and trips.

Congratulations go out to the winners of the baila competition – Nalaka Gamage and Thilini Fernando, the best dressed male – Harshan Senadhira and the best dressed female – Heshareen Abdeen.

The night also belonged to Pasindu Soysa, a Mitra intern from the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), who won the grand raffle prize, namely two return air tickets to either Malaysia or the Maldives.

The majority of staff who attended the gala went home with some gift or the other, such as smartphones, laptops and home theatre systems, after a night of fun and glamour.

Chathurika Wasala and Zolara Peiris of Mitra’s Human Resources team, who helped organise the event said, “Our annual party was once again a huge success. New and familiar faces joined us. Good people, good vibes and a glass of bubbly. What more could one ask for when celebrating success.”

Kithsiri Ekanakaye and DJ Rana of Mitra’s marketing team endorsed the fact that it was vital to meet up to celebrate the company’s achievements, hard work and to show their appreciation for one another.

“Thank you to all the members of this corporate family for your support, commitment and most of all, thank you for giving this company your best.”
