Attraction

- BY SIROHMI

They found that their attraction for each other had not dimmed with the passage of time

Deepthi and Shiva met at a party and couldn't take their eyes off each other.

Shiva asked Deepthi to dance and the slow ballad meant that they could dance holding each other close. The dancing stopped when they went in to have dinner. “Would you like to eat some sweet and sour prawns?” asked Shiva and Deepthi said ‘Yes'. They also dished out the noodles and devilled chicken and sat in a corner to eat.

“Are you working or studying?” asked Shiva. “Both” said Deepthi. Shiva asked her if he could see her again and Deepthi said ‘Yes'.

“I'll contact you. Give me your telephone number” said Shiva.

He called her the next day and soon they were enjoying their love affair.

Shiva however had made plans to go abroad for his studies and he told Deepthi. “Does it mean that we have to break up?” asked Deepthi.

“We are both young so we cannot make plans for the future. All I know is that you and I care about each other. We will have to wait and see if it is just physical attraction. We can e-mail each other and give the odd phone call” said Shiva.

So they kissed and parted with Shiva going to the USA. Deepthi meanwhile tried her best to forget her lover and soon immersed herself in her work.

Two years went by and Shiva completed his studies and graduated from the University. “I waited for you to finish and come home” said Deepthi and the lovers found that their attraction for each other had not dimmed with the passage of time. “Both of us dated others so we are now sure that it is only each other we really want. Perhaps we can now marry and settle down” said Deepthi and Shiva agreed.
