Donald Trump appoints George Mentz to The Commission on Presidential Scholars
US President Donald Trump recently appointed American Academy of Project Management (AAPM) and Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM) Founder and CEO George Mentz to serve on The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.
In Sri Lanka, there are currently more than 500 members of AAPM and GAFM, the Colorado, Usa-based accredited global graduate societies for project management, management and finance, with membership over 150 countries.
The Commission on Presidential Scholars is a group of eminent private citizens appointed by the President to select and honour the Presidential Scholars. Commissioners are selected from across the country, representing the fields of education, medicine, law, social services, business, and other professions.
For over 55 years, this unique federal programme has honoured about 7,500 top scholars and students from USA, who have demonstrated leadership, scholarship, and contribution to the community. The work of the commissioners, on behalf of the president, reaffirms the national commitment to quality education.
George Mentz’s contributions include volunteering for various administrations including Bush and Obama, teaching over 250 college courses, giving away scholarships to those in need, working in e-learning for over 20 years, and volunteering and engaging charitable work in the areas of educational excellence.
