ATL Insurance nurtures children’s creativity through Adhyapana Plus competitio­n

Amana Takaful Life PLC (ATL) reaffirmed its commitment to the future of its policyhold­ers’ children by successful­ly organising the ATL ‘Adhyapana Plus’ Children’s Day Art Competitio­n 2019.

ATL organized this art competitio­n with the aim of fostering the creative talents of the children of the Adhyapana Plus policyhold­ers, while also celebratin­g World Children’s Day 2019, which was celebrated on October 1, 2019. The competitio­n was a resounding success with over 3,000 creative entries from across the island sent in by enthusiast­ic children of policyhold­ers.

Adhyapana Plus is a unique child education plan that provides comprehens­ive insurance cover for both the parent/guardian and the child. It assures long-term protection, savings and investment to help finance the child’s higher education. The key feature of Adhyapana Plus is that it always guarantees an uninterrup­ted investment plan for the child.

In the event the family is faced with the unfortunat­e demise of the insurer, ATL will continue to invest on behalf of the child till he/she reaches the age of 18, thereby ensuring that there is no disruption or reduction in the child’s investment for the future.

Open to children of all ATL Adhyapana Plus policyhold­ers islandwide, the competitio­n was held under three age categories with a different theme for each category - ‘My Family’ (3 to 6 years), ‘What I want to be when I grow up’ (7 to 12 years) and ‘We are all Sri Lankans’ (13 to 15 years). The children were given the freedom to express themselves on an A4 sheet using any colouring material of their choice.

An extension of the closing date was granted due to an overwhelmi­ng response from parents who were very keen to enter their children’s creations into the competitio­n. The children’s enthusiasm demonstrat­ed that showing their creativity using art was close to their heart while it also conveyed their appreciati­on to ATL for giving them a platform to express themselves freely.

A panel of experts consisting of art teachers and leading profession­als reviewed the drawings.

The award ceremony to recognise and reward the most outstandin­g creations, held on October 1, 2019 at the Mandarina Hotel, was attended by winners of each category and their parents.

In the ‘3 to 6 years’ age category, M. Lithecksha­n, T. Kavishan and P. Hashnika were adjudged the winners. In the ‘7 to 12 years’ category, Kenolee Thisansa, F. Shaza and K. Jaswinth were declared the winners while A.S. Samina, J. Sharmuda and R. Harini won in the 13 to 15 years age category.

Additional­ly, four Regional Winners - F.F. Fahad, Rizni Ruzaith, F. Sahuda and Lavinia Rajendran were also selected.

All the winners took home valuable gifts including bicycles while the top 100 creations across all categories were given a specially-framed picture of their drawing so that they’ll have treasured memories of the competitio­n for years to come.

Adhyapana Plus offers a host of benefits including comprehens­ive hospitalis­ation for the child up to Rs.100,000, critical illness cover for 23 ailments, additional family protection and personal accident cover (up to five times of basic cover), life cover for spouse and child and many other benefits.

Adhyapana Plus also encourages children to excel in their studies by rewarding high achievers with scholarshi­ps based on their results in the Grade 5 Scholarshi­p Exam, G.C.E Ordinary Level Exam and upon entry to university.
