“You’ll Always Pass Failure, On The Way To Success”

-

There will come a time in your child’s life, be it a exam, a sporting meet or a musical assessment, where they will not achieve their desired result. Despondent, the child will react in two ways. The spirited and motivated child would brush it off as a minor glitch and stay on the path to success, trying harder. Whilst there are other children, who, disappointed at their lack of achievement will not try again and eventually might even quit. Each child is different, and their reactions to such setbacks is not right or wrong. As parents, much as we helped our children achieve success, we need to also help them overcome loss and disappointment. We need to teach them, show them, that there will always be failures in life, for without them you will not be able to achieve the success that is there, waiting. Rather then be the spokesperson for the “I told you show”, instead knowing that your child has put in the hard work, keeping them motivated and empowered to face rejection full on should be your ultimate goal. Knowing that they have the support of their parents, in either a win or lose situation will be the bouncing block that will help to motivate the fallen child. Yes, we might be as equally disappointed and frustrated as the child, but our words and actions at these trying moments is what will set in motion your child’s attitude to any failures in the future. Watch your words, be positive, and remember you will always pass failure on the way to success.
