Marlbo Trading appointed sole agent for Baur, announces year-end sale

Marlbo Trading Company, operating since 1989 in the field of electrical and allied products, has been appointed as the sole agent for Austria’s Baur, in Sri Lanka.

For the first time this partnershi­p will see the introducti­on of a ‘Cable fault detecting vehicle’ to the Sri Lankan market.

“This cable is similar to an ambulance for medical emergency and it will help to detect a cable fault, location of a damaged or perishing undergroun­d cable without digging the surface,” said Marlbo Trading Company Managing Director M. Maniymuthu.

In addition, several of Baur’s range of products will be marketed directly by Marlbo Trading Company from January 2020.

Baur Austria is a market leader in the service and maintenanc­e of electrical power distributi­on systems for 70 years and their clients includes power plant companies, mains operators and public utility and industrial and service companies.

“Marlbo Trading Company has establishe­d itself in the Sri Lankan instrument­s market as a leader with nearly 40 percent market share. Our aim is to raise this up to 50 percent by end 2012,” said Marlbo Trading Company Chief Executive Officer Neel Weedagama.

He also said that Marlbo will be conducting its year-end sale from December 19 to 21, 2019, at its head office premises at Abdul Gafoor Mawatha, Colombo 03.

“Testing and measuring instrument­s, safety products and lighting products will be on offer with discounts up to 60 percent at this bi-annual event. The sale will give the opportunit­y for members in the engineerin­g field to purchase new branded quality products at an affordable price.” Marlbo will also host ‘Equipment health camp’ conducted by Engineers of Fluke and Kyoritsu specially flown down for this purpose during the period of the sale.

For the first Time in Sri Lanka, Marlbo has launched a ‘Trade In’ offer for testing and measuring instrument­s for any brands with full warranty of the manufactur­er with very attractive discounts.

The special ‘Trade In’ offer is launched as a corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) project of the company to help the members of the electrical engineerin­g field to move in to use of branded high quality products with the latest technology.
