MESSAGE FROM MAHINDA GALAGEDERA CHAIRMAN EDEX

It is with great honour that I share this message for the supplement issued to mark the inaugurati­on of EDEX Expo 2020. This year’s edition of EDEX marks 17 years of uninterrup­ted service to our motherland as EDEX continues to become a conduit between knowledge seekers and knowledge providers. It is with immense satisfacti­on that I note that over the last decade EDEX has undoubtedl­y made an immense contributi­on in guiding the youth of the country by setting a national platform for higher education and careers.

With many value additions for the visitors to benefit from, EDEX remains to be the premier and largest education and career expo to take place in the country. With its vision of ‘Empowering Sri Lankan Youth to be Globally Competitiv­e’ EDEX takes appropriat­e measures to always be aligned with the dynamic needs of the nation, where EDEX will play its role in supporting to build a competent work force to meet such requiremen­ts.

EDEX Expo 2020 will embrace a platform of local and global convergenc­e of key post-secondary educationa­l stakeholde­rs, comprising over 200 education exhibition booths, representi­ng local and foreign universiti­es and institutes from over 20 countries with country pavilions from India, Japan, Australia, France & Pakistan. The Expo will continue to also feature a job fair, a career guidance centre, an entreprene­urship zone, as well as give host to its community based projects under the banners EDEX Nenepahana, EDEX Sithuwam and EDEX Think Green.

Whether, it is pursuing a higher education path; exploring learning options overseas; looking for career guidance advice; or seeking the right employment opportunit­y, I warmly welcome you to visit the twin exhibition­s of EDEX Expo 2020 in Colombo and Kandy and set the stage to live your dream.
