MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL–ROYAL COLLEGE B.A. ABEYRATHNA

-

It is indeed a privilege for me to share this message for the supplement published to mark EDEX Expo 2020, which celebrates its 17th consecutive year of providing choices, option, and opportunities.

Over the last 16 years, EDEX has been at the forefront, undertaking the role as a national responsibility, providing immense support for thousands of youth in deciding their higher education and career pathways.

As we enter a new decade, we expect to see a transformation in the educational sector, as a large number of youth would look beyond traditional higher educational choices. 20 to 30 years ago, students aspired to be doctors, engineers and lawyers, but now we see a paradigm shift, where students want to see themselves equipped with knowladge to tackle 21st century challenges.i strongly believe EDEX provides the ideal platform by amalgamating diverse education institutions both locally and overseas to help in guiding the youth towards their learning aspirations.

Today, with EDEX expanding to many areas including careers, job fair, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability, it has grown to become a comprehensive one stop shop with over 200 educational institutions, corporates and other service providers for guiding our youth. I am thankful to the Royal College Union and the members of EDEX for their immense contribution towards this national cause.

I warmly invite all students along with their parents to visit EDEX Expo 2020 from the17th to 20th January in Colombo and from the 24th to 25th January in Kandy, and benefit from the wide variety of choices, options and opportunities to make the best decision in giving wings to their dreams.
