GVR Lanka hopes to transform Kandy with Dynasty Residence

- By Randheer Mallawaarachchi

A main criticism shared by many is that development is strictly restricted to mainstream cities like Colombo and Hambantota. Sri Lanka has more to offer than what is available in those specific regions.

Kandy, for instance, is one such region which is of great historical significance, and scenic beauty which puts Sri Lanka on the map.

Instead of converting Kandy into a concrete jungle, one great entrepreneur, GVR Lanka CEO and President Mahasen Samaravijaya had come up with a conceptual model under the US Green Building LEED Rating System (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for a residency which transforms the region into a highly developed hospitable setting, whilst preserving the natural and historical value of the original sources.

The Dynasty Residence is sure to redefine the condominium landscape by including Kandy into the mix.

Migrated from his native Sri Lanka to US in 1973, Mahasen Samaravijaya, the CEO having over 30 years experience in hi-tech manufacturing industry had a vision to contribute back to his home town Kandy. His vision and main goal is to attract the expats who left the country to return to their homeland and be a part of its development. Thus, the Dynasty Residence has been designed to suit their high-end lifestyle.

When questioned as to why Kandy was chosen as the destination, Samaravijaya replied “Why not? I see the possible potential in the future in this untapped paradise.”

The area chosen was undeniably one of the best in the region in terms of quality of living and environment cleanliness. Opposite the property, runs the Colombokandy Freeway exit, aquatic environment enables sea-planes to land in front of the building.

Dynasty Residence comprises of 21 floors which consists of 93 uniquely build high end residential units which have a selection of 17 different floor layouts with Sri Lankan and European fusion. Dynasty Residence being the first and last high rise development to come 30 minutes away from the beautiful Mahaweli River with unobstructed views of the scenic beauty from any floor, and from every possible angle.

Built according to the International standards, Dynasty residence has allocated 42 percent of the building as common area and the average apartment size of this over 1,600 square-feet which is significantly larger than similar developments in Colombo.

Dynasty residence has paid paramount attention to safety standards and high concerns into necessary fire control by adding fire rated doors plus creating fresh air movement which permeates throughout the indoor facility. Non-compromising safety measures taken makes this development safe and ideal for children and adults alike.

Dynasty Residency facilitates a luxurious rooftop experience, a 170-metre jogging track, an open gymnasium, a reading/meditation garden with a beautiful view. The fourth floor holds a restaurant, along with a mini-market to ensure a shopping experience and an indoor gymnasium.

A swimming pool is lined up to the river, where the resident can enjoy the view whilst having a peaceful swim, whilst having many other amenities including doctor facility to take care of any necessary medical assistance, making it the ideal weekend getaway for city dwellers and also act as an excellent Recuperation space for expatriates who wish to relax and retire in Sri Lanka.

Dynasty Residence earned recognition at the Propertyguru Asia Property Awards. GVR Lanka plans to enter the Residence for future upcoming Architectural awards, since this has the potential to being accepted as an architectural wonder.

Dynasty Residence will be managed by a high end lifestyle International hotel operator which makes this iconic development an ideal place for investment. Whilst doing so, the country can witness more inclusive growth and development, especially in regions which are usually overlooked.

GVR Lanka aspires to transform Kandy into the best version it could ever be, and the Dynasty Residence has taken the first step towards that grand endeavour.
