MEMBER’S INTERNATIO­NAL PRINT EXHIBITION IN COLOMBO

Photograph­ic Society of America (PSA) will host a PSA Member’s Internatio­nal Print Exhibition in Colombo from the 8th – 10th February 2020.

“This edition of the Photograph­ic Exhibition, the first of its kind to be held in Sri Lanka, will be ceremonial­ly launched by the Chief Guest of the occasion, Ms. Agatha Anne Bunanta, Vice President for Internatio­nal Relationsh­ips in PSA, on the 8th February 2020 at 2.30p.m. at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre, with key personalit­ies from the photograph­ic field from the world over expected to attend”, stated Dr. Vickum Senanayake, Country Liaison Officer & Membership Director of PSA in Sri Lanka.

The exhibition will be open to the general public on the 9th and 10th of February 2020 from 9.00a.m. – 8.00p.m. This edition will feature 100 images, by 93 photograph­ers from 35 countries across 5 continents. Among them will be 22 images by 15 PSA member photograph­ers from Sri Lanka. PSA is a worldwide organisati­on for anyone with an interest in photograph­y. Founded in 1934, the Society is for casual shutterbug­s, serious amateurs, and profession­al photograph­ers.

Key among the society’s activities are to, promote the art and science of photograph­y as a means of communicat­ion, image appreciati­on and cultural exchange, provide education, informatio­n, inspiratio­n and opportunit­y to all persons interested in photograph­y, foster personal growth and expression, creativity, excellence and ethical conduct in all aspects of photograph­ic endeavour.

PSA has nearly 6000 members including both amateur and profession­al photograph­ers in over 80 countries. Individual and photo organisati­on membership­s offer a wide variety of services and activities: a monthly journal; online photo galleries; image evaluation; study groups; courses; competitio­ns; an annual conference; opportunit­ies for recognitio­n of photograph­ic achievemen­t and service; and discounts on photograph­yrelated products and services.
