Where is The Love

Cupid, please spread a lot of love on this earth, especially in our city, and in the other places where people are suffering in many ways

If ever love was needed in this world, it is now. The whole world is unrecognisable, where hate seems to be the order of the day. Friends are insincere, the greed for huge sums of money has made many into thieves, married couples have no interest in each other and in a matter of a few years of marriage one or both are in extra marital affairs. Looking around the world, we see that people are fighting incurable illnesses, wars are escalating in many countries, religious cults are springing up all over drawing in those seeking hope and sanity that they cannot find within themselves. Greed, selfishness, aggression as well as despair are visible all over. It seems that very few can get on harmoniously. Everybody wants to make ‘a deal,’ as it is known here, to be mega rich overnight. How it is achieved is of no consequence if they come out on top. Growing children must go through the pain when things turn sour and are damaged for life in such situations. Smothering them with money and luxuries is not the answer as the damage caused and resulting scars remain for life.

What will Valentine bring us today? Cupid, please spread a lot of love on this earth, especially in our city, and in the other places where people are suffering in many ways. I do wish that Eros visits to teach this world to love again. It reminded me of "What the World Needs Now Is Love,” a popular song in 1965, with lyrics by Hal David and music composed by Burt Bacharach. First recorded and made popular by Jackie Deshannon.

What the world needs now Is love, sweet love It's the only thing That there's just too little of What the world needs now Is love, sweet love No not just for some But for everyone Lord, we don't need Another mountain There are mountains And hillsides enough to climb There are oceans And rivers enough to cross Enough to last 'Til the end of time

Happy Valentine's Day and may all of you be blessed with some form of love.
