Mr. Jenkins, Inspector of the Department of Social Securities; a dull paper pusher who thinks he’s a know it all, is portrayed by

Wayne White. Gullible, eccentric, forward but also a bit serious is how Wayne describes his character. He says that although he has played other comedy roles in the past this character has been a bit out of his depth, but the fact that there is a great chemistry among all the actors in the cast has made him feel a lot more comfortable in his role. “The learning curve is an ongoing process and there is so much to learn from the whole cast” he said. He added that he was trying to bring in an intellectual aspect instead of trying to lean towards the slapstick side of the role. Lee Anne Juriansz will be taking on the role of Brenda Dixon, who happens to be Norman's Fiancee. “Brenda is very much in love with Norman, and is very concerned about him as well. In general she’s a very sweet and naive person” explained Lee Anne. When we inquired about how well the cast was getting along she said “It’s an absolute honour to work with so many talented actors, and I enjoy every moment that I’m here. We never leave practice without having a good laugh.”

Playing the bubbly role of Sally is Nicole Eliaz.“sally is from the family crisis department but gets mistaken for a girl from the local girl scouts. She’s extremely caring and sweet but she’s also the type of person whose bad side you do not want to be on” said Nicole. Taking on a speaking role for the first time Nicole admitted that she was a bit nervous at the start but said that she was definitely making progress and getting confident in her portrayal of the role. Dr. Chapman who is the marriage guidance counsellor that’s helping Mrs. Swann with her current predicament is played by Visura Silva.“dr. Chapman is a character that’s too eager to please everyone and show off his knowledge but ends up messing everything up all the time” he said. He added that it was an interesting as well as fun character to play.

“There aren’t really any villains in this play but Ms. Cowper is the closest to a villain that you would find” says Tahiri Perera. “Ms. Cowper is a very career oriented woman who enjoys the power of the position that she holds. However once she encounters Eric she starts to lose that power and control. That transition is really interesting” she added. Having worked with Jith once before Tahiri said that he’s an amazing director and that everyone in the cast was having a great time working with him.

Vihan Wickramasurendra plays the crafty Uncle George, who is

Eric’s Uncle and partner in crime. He added that he loves slapstick comedy and although he had a tough time portraying a role that is much older than he is, it wasn’t too hectic as he ends up lying around on stage most of the time. “I’m basically a stage prop that gets thrown around unnecessarily” he quipped. Mr. Fortbright who is the undertaker is portrayed by Danu Innasithamby.

A veteran in the genre of comedy and theatre as a whole Danu says that sliding into the role wasn’t too difficult. “It’s a fun role in a hilarious play, and I had a great time getting into character” quipped Danu. “You can expect to sit back, relax and laugh hysterically throughout the whole play” was Danu’s message to the audience.
