Free webinar on how to benefit from adopting Japanese practices

-

Sunil G. Wijesinha will conduct a one hour webinar on Japanese practices and demonstrate how we in Sri Lanka can effectively adopt them with great benefit.

Japan is well known for its unique practices and customs which have won them praise globally. Some of the practices and customs are steeped in their culture, and do not lend themselves for easy adoption in a different culture.

The presentation will describe these practices which could completely transform an organization into a dynamic, highly customer oriented, productive, and quality conscious one. Some of the topics which will be highlighted would include the focus on the other person rather than self, discipline and punctuality, consensus decision making through Nemawashi, improving productivity and quality through techniques such as incremental improvements, the Ohno circle, alignment mentality and data based problem solving.

The Japanese Kereizuki obsession too will be explained in a practical manner. The typical Japanese approach to handling employees including the Shinkansen method will also be discussed.

Wijesinha has practical experience in implementing these techniques in all the places he has worked as the CEO and Executive Chairman, and includes the Employees’ Trust Fund Board, Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka, and Dankotuwa Porcelain. He is considered the pioneer who introduced and popularized Japanese management techniques such as Quality Circles and 5S. He was a former President of the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association.

The webinar will be hosted from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 12 and registration is freeof-charge. Prior registration is required and details are available with B’connected on telephone 011 250 3510, 0776 371 134, 0767 318537 or by emailing events@bconnected.lk.
