Imperial Builders hands over CSR housing project to former Slave Island residents

-

The work on the relocation project Block C&D in Slave Island was started in 2016, which consists of four towers of Ground+12 floors. These were handed over to the families recently by Imperial Builders.

Present at the occasion was UDA Chairman Architect Harshan De Silva, Director Priyani Nawaratna, UDA DG Prasath Ranaweera, Secretary Priyath Banduwickrama and Enforcement Officer Sajith Pothagama.

This was done by Imperial Builders (Pvt.) Ltd, which will permanently house 118 families that had to be relocated in order to progress with the development of the Destiny Mall and Residency. The relocation project was completed to quality standards with the approval from the relevant authorities every step of the way.

The families were delighted to obtain their keys to their individual apartments and were invited to receive them in batches, due to the prevailing COVID19 situation in the country. The project aim was to uplift the living standards of the former residents of the property.

Destiny Mall and Residency and Destiny II developed by Imperial

Builders will complete by 2021 and 2023. The prevailing situation has pushed back the development due to the challenges faced. Destiny consists of 210 apartments and Destiny II has 550. They are being built on a 270-perch property at the corner of Sir Justice Akbar Mawatha and R.A De Mel Mawatha, Colombo 2, opposite former Elephant House.

The developments are set to transform the area between the Slave Island railway station and R.A. De Mel Mawatha, with its ultra modern Ground +37 storey twin tower design and Destiny II Ground +50, which consists of a shopping promenade at the base common to both apartment projects.

The Destiny superstructure is fully complete along with the external paint works nearing completion. With regards to the interior of the building, block work and plaster work have been completed and simultaneously Imperial Builders is progressing with the internal paint work, tiling, ceiling, doors, windows and balconies installation parallel to the electrical and plumbing work of the building. The Destiny II superstructure is underway currently at the seventh floor level.

Eighty percent of the apartments are currently sold to both local and foreign nationals. Imperial Builders has seen a tremendous response, due to a competitive pricing structure, location and thoughtful payment plans, offering clients a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase affordable inner city luxury living.

Destiny Mall and Residency, located on Sir Justice Akbar Mawatha, conveniently in the CBD, is walking distance from Galle Face Green, Nawam Mawatha Business District, all Colombo-based five-star hotels, two schools and the Beira Lake. Destiny and Destiny II include one, two, three and four-bed apartments with the price ranging from Rs.18 million to Rs.100 million.

The shopping mall consists of 130,000 square feet of retail space, inclusive of a supermarket and retail shopping, making it very attractive to the rental investment market. The apartment amenities include pools, a business centre, gymnasiums, a banquet hall, seven guest rooms and ample visitor parking.
