Omedwin opens Ayurveda Centre in Malabe
Omedwin Ayurveda Ceylon (Pvt.) Ltd opened its fully-fledged indigenous traditional Ayurveda Centre at No: 161, 13, Pittugala, Kaduwela Road, Malabe, recently with the participation of Health Services Deputy Director General Dr. Amal Harsha.
Located in the town of Malabe in the middle of Battaramulla, Kaduwela and Athurugiriya, this Ayurvedic Centre can be easily reached via the Southern Expressway.
All treatments at Omedewin Ceylon Indigenous Ayurvedic Centre are carried out under the principal supervision of Mahipala Hettiarachchi, a renowned indigenous Ayurvedic physician and under the administration of Director Nihal Gamage.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, its Chairman Dr. Upul Samarawickrama Liyanarachchi said, “Launched with the noble aim of reviving our traditional indigenous Sinhala medicine, this Ayurvedic Medicine Centre provides a permanent treatment for all ailments such as hemorrhoids, paralysis, diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity and skin diseases. In addition, we are implementing a special treatment scheme for fertility.”
Another speciality of Omedwin Ceylon Indigenous Ayurvedic Medicine Centre is the special traditional Ayurvedic neuro therapy. The herbal liquor store located in the premises also sells a wide range of traditional local herbal drinks, including herbal teas, which help maintain a healthy immune system. Siyambala drink, nelli drink, goraka drink and kitul flour gruel are the main ones.
Although Western medicine is widely used in Sri Lanka today, there is a new awakening in the local Ayurveda system as well. Indigenous traditional Ayurveda treatment has also made Sri Lanka a tourist destination.
Now Sri Lankans are more interested in traditional Ayurveda treatments than ever before, although the problem is that many traditional indigenous healers practice far away from Colombo and its suburbs. In response to this problem, Omedwin Ayurveda Ceylon (Pvt.) Ltd opened the Ayurveda Centre.
