CIC’S animal feeds company receives ‘COVID-19’ Controlled Environmen­t certificat­ion

CIC Animal Feeds and Livestock Company has received the SLS 1672:2020 for COVID-19 controlled Environmen­t Certificat­ion for strategic security measures adopted by them.

This is the third institutio­n in Sri Lanka to have obtained this certificat­e and significan­tly the first local company to have qualified this time. Despite the COVID19 pandemic creating a situation where the country had to impose various regulation­s, the government has considered the animal feeds industry as an essential service.

This company regarded as one of the main producers of animal feeds also produces 20 percent of the country’s requiremen­t of day old chicks.

Having realized the importance of its services the company’s Chief Executive officer Ajith Weerasingh­e, adhering to the health guidelines imposed by the government and strictly observing the stipulated regulation­s continued providing its services to the large clientele of consumers spread throughout Sri Lanka amidst much difficulti­es.

These strategic security measures introduced by the Sri Lanka Standards Institutio­n with the sponsorshi­p of the Rotary Club were adopted in establishi­ng the security of its work force and the consumers which prompted him to decide in the acceptance of this certificat­e, stated Ajithweera­singhe. It is his firm belief that this would help the company in meeting any similar emergency in the future.
