HNB Finance rewards Avurudu digital games winners
Sri Lanka’s leading financial services provider HNB Finance PLC, recently rewarded the winners of its unique and interactive ‘Ape Gedara Avurudu’ digital portal, launched in celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The ‘Ape Gedara Avurudu’ platform was initiated with a vision to lift the spirits of and give all Sri Lankans the opportunity to compete in traditional Avurudu folk games and ‘rasa pena’ contests, while they were confined to their homes, due to the pandemic-induced, countrywide lockdown.
“The ‘Ape Gedara Avurudu’ digital platform was launched with the primary vision of lifting the spirits of all Sri Lankans, as they were forced to celebrate the New Year while confined to their homes during the countrywide lockdown. The pandemic shed light on numerous spheres of society’s needs, particularly the need for rapid digital adaption. As an institution that possesses a firm track record of fearless innovation, we have designated this year as being crucial to our complete migration into a digital era. We will continue to invest in initiatives such as this and refine our financial product and service portfolio in order to surpass customer expectations. We have no doubt our new direction will elevate t he speed, capacity and costeffectiveness of our service delivery to support the dreams of millions across the country,” stated HNB Finance PLC Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Chaminda Prabhath.
All participants had to compete on an interactive, vibrant interface with games such as ‘Kotta Pora’, ‘Kanamutti Bideema’, ‘Lissana Gasa Nagima’, ‘Aliyata Aha Thabeema’ as well as an ‘Avurudu Rasa Pena Trivia’. The platform also provided an opportunity for users to sign up for a raffle draw, for which winners were randomly selected. Winners were presented with an array of exciting gifts by the branch managers of their respective HNB Finance branches.
The ‘Ape Gedara Avurudu’ platform is but a small nod to the new developments brewing within HNB Finance to revolutionise the financial services sector in the country.
