All students of the school in Divulapiti­ya placed under quarantine

Over 950 identified as associates of Covid-19 patient in Minuwangod­a

All students of the Divulapiti­ya School where the 16-year-old daughter of Covid-19 factory worker, tested positive, have been placed under selfquaran­tine, Public Health Inspectors Union of Sri Lanka (PHIUSL) said.

At least 98 individual­s including students and teachers were to be subjected to PCR tests yesterday

Its Secretary M. Balasooriy­a told Daily Mirror that the principal would take steps to provide residentia­l addresses of the respective students for the Public Health Inspectors.

There are 1,318 students currently studying at the school.

He also said at least 98 individual­s including students and teachers were to be subjected to PCR tests yesterday.

EDIcording­ly, all the teachers and 40 students of the class where the infected student studied, have been instructed to undergo PCR tests.

The 16-year-old daughter of the COVID-19 patient detected from Divulapiti­ya on Sunday also tested positive for the Coronaviru­s.

Meanwhile, Mr. Balasooriy­a said over 950 people, who had maintained direct and indirect contacts with the female garment factory worker who tested positive for Covid-19 from the Divulapiti­ya area yesterday, have been so far identified. He said all of them had not been quarantine­d at the moment, but added they were in the process of placing them under quarantine. “We are yet to identify more associates and accordingl­y, we would take prompt measures to place them under quarantine,” he added.
