Jayantha Dharmapriya who was recently bestowed with the Samaja Seva Subasadaka, Viyapara Vibhushana and Deshabandu Honorary titles, is one of the most sought after artists who excels in the titanium art profession giving new looks to homes, hotels and offices in every part of the country.

With more than 10 years expertise in the beautifying trade, Jayantha who heads Titanium Lanka in Malabe says what he regrets most is not having anyone to compete with him in this country.

Jayantha is also the Secretary of the Ratnapura Multi-religious Society.

“After years of experience in the construction industry, I took up the Titanium challenge about 10 years ago. Today I have branches, offices and a competent workforce to cater to needs in any part of Sri Lanka. Titanium art is not alien to Sri Lanka. Renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa introduced it here, using titanium in most parts of the present Parliament building. He imported raw material from Singapore. But today we have countries that export the highest quality titanium which I import for my projects,” said Jayantha whose titanium art profile includes Hotel Goldisands Beach Hotel, Pitakotte Solis Hotel, Tissamaharama Golden Park Hotel, Avon Hill Kataragama, Ratnapura St. Aloysius National School, Polonnaruwa STF camp, Yala Elephant Reach Hotel and hundreds of other projects including new apartment complexes in Colombo.

“The use of titanium is a different and creative art. I went beyond it, creating new and different vistas in this field of art. I was inspired by my father who was a renowned artist in Ratnapura. I was the first who designed the original wooden look with titanium and it still has a huge demand. Since then I have created timber-look titanium creations to resemble teak, nadun, mahogany or any kind of wood for flooring or staircases. Today people like to use timber but are concerned about the environmental impact. But with titanium we can give the same look as an ecological alternative in a cost effective manner,” he said adding that anyone has access to his colourful story via Youtube cannel - Titaniumsrilanka, website www.titaniumlanka.com and Fb page titaniumlanka.

“I always work to fulfil customer needs, sharing my expertise with them. I have so far completed almost 5,000 houses with titanium flooring, wall designs, bathroom and kitchen designs, in all parts of the country. I can create any design, even 3D flooring and metallic flooring designs. You can really create magic with titanium art. Although I offer a 5 year warranty it lasts a lifetime because this coating does not crack, peel or fade. You can wash and clean, it weathers any climatic condition, water resistant and requires no painting again.

It is an ideal alternative for cladding too, with titanium adding more variety at low cost. People continue to choose me because of the unique creativity, trust, highest quality and prompt response to customer needs. I also have solutions to every type of water leaks with a ten-year warranty. Titanium is a global art trend and most of my clients are those who have had overseas exposure,” said Jayantha expressing his gratitude to those who had helped him in his journey.

“I am so grateful to Rev. Fr. Sathis Kumara of the Nuwara Eliya Assembly of God Church, Ven. Kotapala Sudhamma Thera, Crystolac Chairman Udesh de Silva, directors Mr. Mark and Roshan de Silva, all my clients for the confidence they have in me and especially all my dedicated staff members who are behind my success,” said Jayantha.
