TODAY ON THE BUZZ I SPEAK TO THE NEW GM AT THE MÖVENPICK HOTEL COLOMBO ROSHAN PERERA, IT SURE IS A TOUGH JOB TO TAKE UP DURING THESE TIMES SO I WANTED TO ASK HIM A FEW QUESTIONS ON WHAT HE ENVISIONS FOR THE HOTEL INDUSTRY AND FOR TOURISM. I studied at Carey College - I'm married I have three children Krishan, Madhushan and Ushan.

Q WHAT MADE YOU GET INTO HOSPITALITY?

Food ! I love food and the concepts excited me.

Q WHY DID YOU THINK OF MÖVENPICK?

It's a wonderful brand. It's the only Swiss brand in Sri Lanka and I believe it can go places!

Q WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?

No one. I would have to say you pick and choose various factors that inspire you from various people.

Q THREE THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

My three kids

Q WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?

Hopefully. In retirement!

Appreciation. It's an important factor and being appreciated motivates you and the people around you.

Q MOUNTAINS, BEACH OR CITY?

Oh definitely the mountains.

I have had so many in the last 30+ years

We can't say much but all I can say is you can expect a lovely steak house that's state of the art.
