Mount Vernon Estate bags three coveted Star Awards
Mount Vernon Estate, a forerunner in the black tea industry, was the proud recipient of three coveted awards at the Star Awards 2020 ceremony organised by the Department of Industrial Development and Enterprise Promotions of the Ministry of Industries of the Central Province.
The Gold award for the Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year, The Best COVID-19 Controlled Entrepreneur of the Year, Three Star Award for the Best Industrial Institute were the three awards respectively.
Arjuna Medagama, Superintendant of Mount Vernon Estate, received the awards from Lalith U. Gamage, the Governor of the Central Province, at the awards night recently held at the Grand Kandian Hotel, Kandy.

With an annual production of 1.3 M kg, Mount Vernon stands as the largest estate operating under Kotagala Plantations belonging to Lankem Group. With a work force around 900 and a management team of 75, Mount Vernon is well known for quality black tea. The plantation company is determined to propagate the taste of real Sri Lankan black tea all over the world.
