Sri Lanka’s first-ever PVC wellington boots designed under ISO 20346:2014 Personal Protective Equipment — Protective Footwear Specifications has been unveiled by D Samson Industries (Pvt.) Ltd.

Building on the R&D success borne out of its pioneering spirit, the innovative boots that provide value for money, will be available under the brand “Kebellawa”.

The new PVC wellington boots will greatly enhance our powerful portfolio of footwear brands and a new experience for our customers. This product complies with the current health standards. We also plan to introduce safety boot features such as steel toecap and steel plates for heavy duty industrial use. In addition, we also hope to offer this product to our international buyers in the near future and are proud and pleased that we can reduce the much needed foreign exchange spent on importing safety boots,” stated Dilshan Rajapaksa, Executive Director of DSI.

“The growth of the industrial safety footwear market is fuelled by mounting demand for the product in the construction sector, growing compliance regulations in the manufacturing sector, and increasing adoption of health and safety measures in medical sectors. Reducing foot injuries in the workplace is a key factor and our boots are designed to safeguard the feet from falling objects, fatigue, burns, cuts, electrical hazards and adheres to current pandemic hygiene regulations,” expressed Gamini Senaratne, Head of R&D at DSI.

The ISO quality certification of the PVC boot manufacturing process makes it superior to all other products in the market and is a much better option to the other cheaper alternatives, as it is backed with superior DSI quality and comfort.

DSI endorses the government’s initiative to control imports and encouragement given for the manufacturing sector.

D. Samson Industries (Pvt.) Ltd is the largest footwear manufacturer in Sri Lanka with over 3,000 employees in its footwear plants; while DSI Samson Group provides over 10,000 direct jobs.
