A disease that healed without expensive medication

-

According to this news story sent by the Moragollagama correspondent, a certain Government Servant attached to an office in a prominent town in Wayamba, had experienced the difficulty in quickly rising from a sitting position.

When the condition took a turn for the worse, he had obtained leave to take a rest in his home in the Gampaha area.

As there was no improvement in the condition, he attended a clinic of a medical specialist of a leading hospital in the country.

He, first following the procedure got his name registered and later saw the medical specialist after spending some time in a long queue. He was also given the usual clinic card for recording the treatment history.

The medical specialist who examined the patient had asked him to get a sample of his blood tested and see him again with the blood report.

The patient got a sample of his blood tested at his own expense and saw the medical consultant again at his clinic a few days later.

The medical specialist told him that there was a serious problem with his spinal column, and he should without delay get six doses of some vaccine each of which would cost Rs.

100,000 adding that he should make them available at his own expense.

The patient inquired whether the jabs he was to get at such an expense would produce the expected results.

“Perhaps, it will be a success.

If the jabs fail to answer, surgical treatment might become necessary,” the doctor explained.

“Will I be alright after the proposed surgery,” the patient asked again.

“Surgical treatment may be a success. But there’s no assurance!” was the doctor’s reply.

The patient immediately rose pushing back the chair. He told the medical consultant:

“Sir, may I please leave! I do not want the clinic card either because I do not propose to come back to the clinic seeking medicine!”

“Why do you want to leave? What do you propose to do without taking medical treatment?” asked the doctor.

“Let my condition grow worse! I don’t care!” the patient replied and walked away.

The Government Servant is now free from any illness or any physical discomfort despite not taking treatment, says the correspondent.
