CHANDIMA AND TASMILA WIN WESTERN PROVINCE CAROM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Udesh Chandima of SL Air Force and Tasmila Kavindi of Mahamaya Balika Nugegoda who represented Colombo District won the men’s and women’s singles events of the Western Province Carom Championships held at the Carom Federation of Sri Lanka headquarters in Delkanda.
This tournament was organised by the Ministry of Sports and Education of Western Province to select both men and women teams for the 46th National Sports Festival.
Udesh Chandima beat Hasitha Anuruddha also of SL Air Force 2/1 (25/24, 17/25, 25/24) while Tasmila Kavindi beat Maduka Dilshani of SL Army 2/0 (25/17, 25/0) in the finals.
Nishantha Fernando and Joseph Roshita of SL Navy were placed third.
Held under the supervision of Carom Federation of Sri Lanka, over 150 players took part on this occasion.
