Defiance of authority

- MELVILLE PERERA KOHUWALA

Defiance of authority if not the freedom to do anything one likes as “required” by “INT’L LAW” appears to be the common course of crazy action for achievement, most of the time technically illegal, but officially tolerated and ending up as a middle class sedative. This int’l law best serves rabid jobless (some at state expense) activists well-funded by int’l NGOS. The Sinhalese have been deeply conservative as can be seen by our indigenous race in Damana, Mahiyangana and elsewhere till invasion by alien forces a few centuries back changed this culture for the worse as we see it today laughably called - LIBERAL-A word that has been mercilessly pulled in various directions and applied to social causes and individual freedom dating as far back as circa 1384.

History shows us how religion and politics though breathing the same fresh air have created unwanted differences and hardships to society at large whilst the pious activists live in cozy comfort who disappear from society in the event of a civil strife or allied mayhem..

It is sad to observe some religious leaders instead of binding themselves to their beliefs covered by the constitution resorting to rabble rousing actions.

At the last elections people wanted a change and 6.9 million variety of voters endorsed it which has been constitutionally accepted and the rule of law prevails over everyone in this blessed country and Parliament supreme over all its actions

It is sad to observe some religious leaders instead of binding themselves to their beliefs covered by the constitution resorting to rabble rousing actions. Some nonindigenous minority institutions are only trying to get cheap popularity and have no right to impose any condition which does not come under the ambit of the country’s rule of law. The veiled threat of int’l connections most of them considered a cess-pool of bias or pious frauds, seems ludicrous against a sovereign nation like SRI LANKA which continues to tolerate a whole garbage of non-indigenous matter under dubious unbelievable man made beliefs!!!

Also institutionalized titled dignified dignitaries in minority institutions recognized by the constitution are openly casting insinuating aspersions against persons for negligence of state duties which are unwarranted, unwanted and unbecoming of their status which could create damaging reciprocal action!
