I hope all of you drink at least half a glass of water as soon as you wake up. This rejuvenate­s, refreshes and revitalize­s you to be ready for the day ahead.

MONDAY

Two cute quotes I was sent recently: “Lizards are crocodiles who forgot to take their vitamins when they were young” and “A Pizza is a Paratha that went abroad for higher education.”

TUESDAY

Chick peas are good for boosting energy levels as they are an excellent source of manganese, an essential helper in the body’s energy production system. They also supply slow releasing carbohydra­tes which stabilize blood sugar. They are low in calories and are a good source of iron also.

Dried halmasso and Ash plantain skin stir-fry

METHOD

* SHRED ASH PLANTAIN SKIN VERY FINELY. WASH AND DRAIN HALMASSO; MIX WITH ASH PLANTAIN SKIN, ADD CUT ONIONS, GREEN CHILLIES, GARLIC, CURRY LEAVES AND SALT. ADD CHILLI PIECES OR CHILLI POWDER. LET IT COOK IN ABOUT 2 TBLSP WATER. ADD 2 TSP OIL AND LET IT COOK A LITTLE MORE.

THURSDAY

Laughter is a simple preventive against heart ailments and other physical and mental disorders, says a health journal. It goes on to say that laughter provides internal jogging which strengthen­s the arteries, keeps blood pressure under check and reduces bad cholestero­l.

FRIDAY

Read somewhere that Asian youngsters may have a high IQ but they tend to have a low EQ (Emotional Quotient) , which according to a report, is as important as IQ. Briefly, EQ examines how one deals with oneself and others.
