Blood donation campaign today

The oldest Private Catholic School in Sri Lanka St. Benedict’s College Colombo 13 together with the Old Boys Union initiates the first CSR Project for 2022, on January 8. The Blood Donation Campaign expects to target over 150 to 200 Old Benedictin­es, family members, parents and affiliated partners.this project was organised as a service to the nation considerin­g the ongoing pandemic situation in the country.

The Old Boys Union of St. Benedict’s College is one of the most active bodies in Sri Lanka, which spearheads several projects for the benefit of their Alma Mater. All this is done with the support and dedication of Loyal

Old Benedictin­e’s. During the years of 2020/2021 the Old Boys Union carried out several CSR projects including the distributi­on of dry rations to needy families in vicinity of the College Community, College affiliates and persons who were in need of such requiremen­ts.

These CSR projects were carried out several times during the last two years with generous contributi­ons from loyal

Old Benedictin­es across the globe and locally. The Old Boys Union of St. Benedict’s College is providing the leadership for such initiative­s with the blessings of Rev. Bro. Director of the College – Dr. Pubudu Rajapakse. Apart from CSR Projects the Old Boys Union is also involved in several diverse activities which benefit the College and also the Community at large. They include Motivation­al and Leadership programmes, helping and assisting the College in Sports, Education, Spiritual and other diverse activities and the most important initiative being the creation of “Strategic Direction” for the College for the next five years.

The Old Boys Union of St. Benedict’s College has a proud history of 117 years; the College itself has rendered 157 years’ service to the nation. The Old

Boys Union of St. Benedict’s College will continue to spearhead more projects and activities in 2022, which will include Social, Entertainm­ent activities, Educationa­l activities, including Leadership and Motivation­al programs for the benefit of the College students and more CSR projects, along host of other Social Activities including the Annual Bens/wesley Cricket Encounter.

St. Benedict’s College will continue to strive and produce well-discipline­d and well balanced younger generation, which already has a history of 157 years of being one of the strongest and discipline­d Catholic Schools in Sri Lanka.
