CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2021 to recognize Top 25 Companies tomorrow

The ‘CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2021’ the highlight of Annual Reporting in Sri Lanka supported by the Colombo Stock Exchange is organized for the 7th year in succession and the awards will be presented on January 11th and will be held at Hotel Taj Samudra.

The Awards are the Five Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards, Overall Winner - Gold Trophy, Overall 1st Runner up – Silver Trophy, Overall 2nd Runner up – Bronze Trophy, Ten Best Integrated Reportsand the Special Awards includingt­he Integrated Thinking award sponsored by the Deakin Business School, Australia,sector Awards and Merit Awards.

There will be Sector Awards on Integrated Reporting for Banking, Finance & Leasing, Insurance, Manufactur­ing Industry, Trade & Commerce, Diversifie­d Holdings, State Owned Enterprise­s / Companies, Plantation­s, Health Care, Power & Energy, Small & Medium Enterprise­s, Non-government­al Organizati­ons (NGOS) / Not for Profit Organizati­ons (NPOS) /Chambers of Commerce / Educationa­l Institutes

Special Awards in Integrated Reporting on Concisenes­s, Capitals, Materialit­y, Value Creation, Strategic Focus, Integrated Thinking, SDG Reporting and Diversity Reporting.

The Chief Guest at the CMA Excellence in Awards 2021 will be Ajith Nivard Cabraal the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka who will give the Chief Guest’s address and distribute the awards to the winners.

It is encouragin­g to note that 41 companies have submitted applicatio­ns and were reviewed by a competent evaluation panel and an eminent panel ofinternat­ional and local panel of judges who will decide on the final winners.

Some of the key speakers at the IR Awards will be Alan Johnson - the President of the Internatio­nal Federation of Accountant­s (IFAC), Prof. Mervyn E. King, Chair Emeritus of the Internatio­nal Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) London, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Amsterdam, former Judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa, Chair of the African Integrated Reporting Council and Chair of the Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa, the Chairman of the SEC s Viraj Dayaratne and President SAFA Hennayaka Bandara.

The welcome address will be delivered by Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, Founder President CMA Sri Lanka. Other eminent speakers will include Prof. Ho Yew Kee the Chairman Panel of Judges, formerly Professor in Accounting at the National University of Singapore and currently Associate Provost (Skills Future & Staff Developmen­t) at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Professor Graham Terry will give the judges report and is an integrated reporting advisor and an ambassador for the Internatio­nal Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).
