Airline Representa­tives Assn. plans out key initiative­s for the future

The 28th Annual General Meeting of The Sri Lanka Associatio­n of Airline Representa­tives (SLAAR), was held on October 28th at the Taj Samudra hotel Colombo and the newly elected committee held their first committee meeting recently to plan out activities for the year ahead.

SLAAR’S membership consists of Passenger & Cargo Airline General Sales Agencies (Gsas)andthe Associatio­n’s primary objective is to address common issues related to the industry while safeguardi­ng policies and interests of the Airline Principals represente­d by its members.

Several initiative­s revolving around industry affairs, training& developmen­t, PR & social media, social events, and CSR were planned outto align with the vision of SLAAR to become a trusted voice in the aviation industry in Sri Lanka. SLAAR strives to add value to the industry and its stakeholde­rs through these initiative­s.

The newly appointed committee of SLAAR consist of Thanuja Lankathila­ke (Chairperso­n – GSA Air India), Gerard Victoria (Immediate Past Chairman – Hayleys Aviation), Gyan Amerasingh­e (Deputy Chairman – GSA Emirates), Shamith Wijethilak­e (Secretary – GSA Maldivian Airlines), Dumindu Amarathung­e (Treasurer - Leisure Cargo Lanka), Srimath Fernando (Asst. Treasurer – GSA Saudia), Chaminda Silva (Committee Member – GSA Jazeera Airways), Niranjan Athapathth­u (Committee Member – GSA Kuwait Airways), Praharshin­i Bolling (Committee Member – GSA Singapore Airline), Sudeshinie Jayawarden­a (Committee Member – GSA British Airways), Sashini Muthuthant­hri (Committee Member – GSA Indigo), Sajith Amaraseker­a (Committee Member – GSA Malaysia Airlines) and Santhush Udumalagal­a (Committee Member – GSA Malindo Air).
