A Little Provenance
Reef Talpe is the love and pride of Mr. Chandima Weerakody, who has decided to embrace his passion for the hospitality industry with the launch of Reef Talpe in November of 2021. The property, which belonged to his late father, was previously unused until Chandima decided to develop upon what his father had started and build his first villa. Chandima is a lover of Sri Lanka’s beautiful blue oceans and golden sandy beaches himself. So, to capture this he built Reef Talpe with the aid of one of Sri Lanka’s renowned architechts, Mr. Murad Ismail. Together, they were able to build the villa Reef Talpe to embrace the beauty of the villa’s location on the beach front.
The Villa
Nestled snugly, in what is known as Sri Lanka’s
“Golden Mile,” the villa sits right at the shoreline in front of Talpe’s famous natural rock pools.this cozy little villa offers nothing but the best in luxury and comfort to its guests and gives anyone the chance to really understand why Sri Lanka is called a paradise island. With amazing sea view rooms for anyone in love with the ocean, to a picturesque roof top patio that is available for small group functions or simply for a romantic dinner under the stars, Reef Talpe is truly a diamond in the rough.
With its prime location in Talpe, the villa opens up directly to the water and the rock pools. At high tide, you can sit at the edge of their lawn and watch as the waves crash gently below your feet as you sit and relax in the shade of the palm trees in the garden. Furthermore, given that the beach front is guarded by a reef structure few meters out, this is one of the few places in Sri Lanka where you can enjoy the beach and the ocean all year round, despite the monsoon seasons.
Reef Talpe also provides amazing food and refreshments for its guests that will help round up a perfect stay for anyone. With an àla carte style menu that offers a broad range of dining options, you can experience culinary excellence with traditional Sri Lankan dishes or with dishes that hail from around the world of fine dining.
The Accommodations
Reef Thalpe has a total of six rooms under three different categories for its guests and all of these aspire to the highest standards of Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry. The main room of the villa is a grand and spacious master suite. This suite is located on the second floor with a pristine view of the ocean.
It also has sliding French windows running the full length of the room, allowing the room to fully open up to the balcony for anyone who wants to take in the full sound and feel of being right on the sea front.
The room also has an ample and spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi that looks out through the room and out towards the ocean. This means that from anywhere in the room or the bath you can always enjoy the sight and the sound of the ocean.
After this there are three junior suites, two of which are located on the first floor of the villa and one on the roof top. The two on the first floor are also located with a perfect view of the ocean and they each have spacious bathrooms with bathtubs that again have a full view of the ocean through the room. The roof top suite is an ideal room for any honeymooning couple and leads straight on to the rooftop patio. As the villa is one of the tallest buildings in the area, this room has some of the best views both out towards the sea and back towards palm tree covered lands of Talpe. This room however does not have a tub like the other two junior suites but is just as spacious as the others. Additionally, for anyone who books the roof top for a private function, this roof top room is provided with the package.
Finally, the villa also has two smaller non-sea view rooms, one each on the first and second floors. These rooms do not have the same views but are still designed to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay for anyone.
All of these six rooms have the best in modern facilities that you would expect from any high-end luxury hotel and provide the comforts that go with them. From satellite television, to Wifi and all the other modern amenities that we need to unwind and relax on a perfect holiday.
On the ground floor the villa has its sitting area and dining area that open onto a beautiful little sandy garden that leads straight onto the beach. This is perfect for anyone who wants to just sit down and relax and enjoy the peace
and tranquility that the ocean offers.

Just like it’s amazing views and luxurious rooms, the food at Reef Talpe is nothing short of perfect. Prepared by the skilled hands of a budding young local chef, the food beautifully complements everything else at the villa to make your stay truly perfect.

From Sri Lankan to Italian to Indian, the chef’s menu is wide but uncompromising in its taste and presentation. If you had not met the chef before eating a meal, you could easily be forgiven for thinking that the food was prepared by a skilled and seasoned chef from any one of Colombo’s fine dining restaurants. In addition to this you can also tell the chef your personal likes and dislikes so that, even though you order off the menu, each dish is customized to your own personal taste. While this menu offer is standard for any of the guests, if you book the entire villa you are allowed to bring in your own ingredients or ask the chef to prepare meals to your own menu. Additionally, the villa provides this same amazing food, either off the menu or as a buffet, to anyone who books the roof top patio for any private party or function. Aiding with the chef are one or two staff who are available to cater to your needs and to ensure that your stay is perfect. All of these staff work with the highest level of professionalism and the custom Sri Lankan smile and hospitality that Sri Lanka and its luxury hotel chains are renowned for.
