ARCHIFAIR 2021 TO PROMOTE THE ART OF SOCIAL WELLBEING IN SRI LANKA

The ARCHIFAIR 2021 is a one-of-a-kind event that is being organized by the Sri Lankan Institute of Architects (SLIA) to help demonstrat­e and promote healthy living and healthy lifestyles during this pandemic. To achieve this, SLIA is bringing together a host of Profession­als, Industry Leaders and Celebritie­s in an interactiv­e threeday event that will showcase the “Art of Environmen­tal Wellbeing,” the “Art of Mental Wellbeing,” and the “Art of Physical Wellbeing.”

The event is scheduled to be held virtually and at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre and at the Viharamaha­devi Park. This event is a special interactiv­e event open not just for Architects and Designers but for anyone. This event will have over 200 stalls, batik exhibition­s, musical and film shows and will even feature Choirs and give visitors not only the chance to view all these extraordin­ary events but also shop and interact at most stalls or events.

The fair will be broken down into three sessions that will feature Environmen­tal Wellbeing, Mental Wellbeing and Physical Wellbeing.

For the session on Environmen­tal wellbeing, the session will have multiple public interactiv­e sessions with Architects, Interior Designers and Landscape Architects. It will also feature public video walls and chats with leading architects.

Focusing on Art and Architectu­re, these sessions will also have interactiv­e discussion­s focusing on Fine Arts and Architectu­re with sculptors and painters. It will also have a live session on ice carvings and paintings. The second session on Mental Wellbeing will feature on performing arts and architectu­re. It will have interactiv­e sessions with popular Sri Lankan celebritie­s.the event will again feature video walls and also have a dance performanc­e. It will also have a percussion drumming session. This session will also feature visual arts and architectu­re which will have a screening of an award-winning short film and interactiv­e sessions with leading filmmakers and actors.

Finally, the session will feature fashion and architectu­re with interactiv­e sessions with fashion designers, a fashion show and also a fashion competitio­n. The third session will focus on Physical Wellbeing and feature culinary arts and architectu­re. Here an interactiv­e session is organized with a worldrenow­ned Sri Lankan chef. It will also feature live demonstrat­ions and an action station. The session will also feature Sports and Architectu­re and have interactiv­e sessions with Sri Lankan sporting legends. It will also feature Yoga and Zumba sessions. Finally, this session will also feature interactiv­e sessions on economics and architectu­re with leading bankers, insurers and investors.
