An urgent appeal to diasporas

- M.JALALDEEN ISFAN

Diasporas denote Sri Lankan people who live outside the country. Our Sri Lankan brothers and sisters left the country due to the ethnic war which plagued the country for three decades.

This is our fate that we faced hateful hardships and horrendous hostility in Sri Lanka as a reason of meaningless war. We are now able to realize the amount of happiness that we lost as a nation in the past.

As a nation, we should bury the hatchet and should be one Sri Lankan for a bright and better Sri Lanka. My dear diaspora, you should have watched and witnessed the dangerous and desperate position of Sri Lankans due to the prevailing economic crisis in the country. We all are sons and daughters of mother Lanka and we should help each other during our adversity.

It is reported that around one million Tamil brothers and sisters are living in USA, UK, France, Canada, Germany and Australia and so on.you all should come out of your nightmare which made your hearts and minds as rigid as rock due to the bad and bitter incidents occurred in the country because of the brutal and futile war.

This is not the time to praise our haughty and hostility but this is the time to think on humanitarian ground to stretch your helping hands to rescue the drowning Sri Lankans who face the challenge of life and death.as a proverb says blood is thicker than water and you cannot turn a deaf ear or a blind eye as the other people because you are Sri Lankan and you were born and bred in Sri Lanka. If there is a will, there is a way; you all should consider the present situation in Sri Lanka and make an attempt to remit some dollars to resolve the burning issues of dollars in the country.

For instance, if there are one million Diasporas all over the world and if each and every Sri Lankan contributes 100 dollars then there will be sufficient dollars for Sri Lanka to buy essential foods. fuel, fertilizers and so on or else you all can invest dollars on some lucrative business in the country.your assistance and concern will protect and prevent our people from a rigorous risk of starvation and feminine.

Hence, there is no point in thinking about the past, let bygones be bygones of our hostility and let us reunite and rebuild our country for our present and future generations.
