CADD CENTRE opens New Training Centre in Matara, Sri Lanka

SNAP Ferd Systems and Matara District Chamber of Commerce & Industry Join Hands to Promote CAD & PPM Training in Southern Province

CADD CENTRE, Asia’s largest network of CAD training institutes, has today opened its third training centre in Matara, a commercial hub and one of the largest cities in Sri Lanka. CADD Centre, Matara, promoted jointly by SNAP Ferd Systems, a training provider at Moratuwa and Matara Acadamy, a skill developmen­t initiative of Matara District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is situated in a prime location at a 3,000 sq.ft facility. It is equipped with high end computers and managed by ten faculties trained by CADD Centre.

CADD Centre, Matara will offer about 50 customized CAD courses for Architectu­ral, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic­s engineerin­g students and profession­als. It is expected to train about 1,500 students and profession­als in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka every year.

Commenting about CADD Center, Matara, Mr. S. Karaiadise­lvan, Managing Director, CADD Centre Training Services (Pvt) Limited, said, “Sri Lanka’s stated goal is to transform itself into a knowledge hub of SAARC region. The government aims to achieve this ambitious goal by increasing its investment in education and by creating a conductive environmen­t to attract private investment in higher education.”

CADD Centre, Matara will participat­e in the growth story of Matara district, which is the growth engine of the Southern Province. We will take all efforts to reach world class CAD education at highly affordable cost to benefit local students. To begin with, CADD Centre is expected to train about 1000 students in Matara which houses a large number of schools, technical and engineerin­g colleges and the prestigiou­s Ruhuna University and 500 working profession­als in engineerin­g and project management, every year.

In her comments, Ms. P. Nilmini De Silva, CEO, SNAP Ferd Systems, and Centre Head, CADD Centre, Matara, said that CADD Centre, Matara is a unique private-industry associatio­n partnershi­p that aims to create a large pool of ‘Employable Engineers’ and improve the productivi­ty of engineerin­g profession­als employed in the local industry.

“We will offer tailor-made courses, recog- nized by world’s leading CAD product companies. Our courses would meet the real world needs of tourism, textiles, and infrastruc­ture companies engaged in promoting highways, roads, bridges, townships, housing, power and water projects in Matara and surroundin­g satellite towns such as Galle, Dikwella, Hakmana, Deniyaya, and Kamburupit­iya. By introducin­g soft skill and project management training, we will also strive to create entreprene­urs,” she added.

Currently, CADD Centre has two branches in Sri Lanka and so far has trained over 10,000 students and working profession­als in Sri Lanka. Every year, it trains over 800 students through its regular courses and corporate training programs.
