Modern version of legendary MINI to attract trendy Sri Lankan Youth

The modern versions of the legendary MINI Cooper, the dream car of the youth in 1960s and 70s, comes to Sri Lanka again in the form of new-generation MINI as well as the MINI Countryman.

Prestige Automobile Pvt. Ltd and MINI Asia recently launched these two models of new MINI in Sri Lanka to attract dozens of classic Mini and modern MINI fans.

The MINI cooper was first introduced in 1959 by Mini creator Alec Issigonis and sports car designer John Cooper with compact dimensions, low weight, novel configurat­ion of engine, gearbox and drive and progressiv­e suspension technology.

The iconic car with rich British roots that is renowned for its driving fun and go-kart handling has since undergone evolutiona­ry refinement, with the new MINI undergoing vast improvemen­t in terms of its driving fun, quality and comfort.

A media release issued by the company at the launch ceremony quoted Gehan Siribadden­a, Director of Prestige Automobile Pvt. Ltd as saying “MINI is a small premium car that is packed with dynamism, As such, it is always looking to make its exciting products available to enthusiast­ic customers around the world,” he said. “Prestige Automobile­s is the first official MINI importer in Sri Lanka,” adding that Sri Lanka has a thriving young population who are trendy, fashionabl­e and non-conforming.
