Commence a Prestigiou­s Engineerin­g Degree with Swinburne University

Nawaloka College of Higher Studies ( NCHS) etched a new chapter in the higher education sphere of Sri Lanka in collaborat­ion with the Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. Located at the heart of Colombo, NCHS has opened up an array of new higher education opportunit­ies for Sri Lankan students with this new tie-up.

Swinburne University, which was named one of the world’s top 400 universiti­es by the Times Higher Education Rankings (2013/14) will join hands with NCHS to launch their University Pathway Programs in Sri Lanka for the first time.

As part of this, Swinbur ne’s Engineerin­g Pathway Programs will also be introduced for those aspiring to pursue a career in an Engineerin­g field. These are designed to provide students with access to a wide array of Degree choices in the field of Engineerin­g at Swinburne University, Australia.

Swinburne Engineerin­g pathway programs are highly sought after worldwide and will now be more accessible for Sri Lankan students with this new collaborat­ion with NCHS. They can now commence studying for a prestigiou­s Swinburne engineerin­g degree through the pathway programs without leaving behind the comfort of their homes.

NCHS offers two main Swinburne pathway options for students who wish to pursue their higher studies in the field of engineerin­g.

Swinburne Foundation Studies in Engineerin­g is a pre-university program designed to help students meet the entry requiremen­ts and to prepare them for first- year university. Students can apply for this 8 month program with their O/ Level results, and gain fast-tracked entry to their Swinburne University engineerin­g degree in Melbourne, Australia or Malaysia.

This foundation program equips students for further studies at Swinburne University in a range of engineerin­grelated areas, such as civil engineerin­g, mechanical engineerin­g, electrical and electronic­s, aviation, telecommun­ication and internet technologi­es.

Swinburne Unilink Diploma of Engineerin­g program is equivalent to the 1st year of a Bachelor’s degree. Students can apply for this Unilink program with their A/ Level results or through the Swinburne Foundation program in Engineerin­g and thereafter progress on to the 2nd year of their engineerin­g Bachelor’s degree at Swinburne University Melbourne, Australia or Malaysia. Students who successful­ly complete all units of study are guaranteed second- year entry into a relevant Engineerin­g degree program of choice.

The purpose-built engineerin­g laboratory at NCHS is a unique addition and will ensure that students gain practical exposure whilst following their pathways programs. A Modern computer laboratory and a well- equipped library are also in place to create a stimulatin­g learning environmen­t.

NCHS and Swinburne University maintains very close ties to ensure that students receive a quality education. Academic programs will follow the same syllabuses, method of delivery and evaluation methods as the Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia.

NCHS also of fers Swinbur ne Foundation and Unilink Diploma programs in Business and IT streams providing students with access to over 60 different bachelor’s degrees at Swinburne University.
