3rd Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of IIHE
IIHE that offers quality undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes from the University of Wales ( UK) since 1996 in Sri Lanka had another memorable event recently.
The Rotaract Club of Imperial Institute of Higher Education (RCIIHE) celebrated its 3rd installation ceremony on the 13th August 2014 Chaired by Rtr. Shenal Rose at IIHE university premises where the 3rd President Rtr. Ahamed Iqraas was collared. Rtr. PP Deepika Selvaraj stepped down as the immediate past president after completing a successful year of projects.
The 2nd Installation ceremony of the club, Den of scream which was a joint finance project, Deepavali celebrations which was an International Understanding project and the Blood donation camp as the community service were the projects carried out by the past board out of which they covered all the avenues.
Rtr. Ahamed Iqraas has a long term plan to take the club to a greater level and making the main project of the year called “Paint a Smile “which is a community service based project.
The collared president has the main focus to conduct many phases of community service projects. Newly appointed President Iqraas, is confident of achieving the objectives and successfully accomplishing the planned projects for the current year with his newly appointed dynamic Board of Directors and the Executive Board, comprising Rtr. Thilini Perera as the directress of Public Relations, Rtr. Toshini Pieris and Rtr. Ashana Banadara as the two directors of finance, Rtr. Tishan Lourdwin as the director of Professional Development, Rtr. Shenal Rose as the director of Club Service, Rtr. Shenelle Solomonsz as the directress of Community Service, Rtr. Diya Udeshi as the directress of International Understanding, Rtr.Shimry Naizer as the Sergeant at Arms, Rtr. Ahmed Waleed as the Editor, Rtr. Tehara Delpathado as the Assistant Secretary, Rtr. Ridhwan Rahman as the Treasurer, Rtr. Ishara Fernando as the Vice President and Rtr. Emanthie Peter as the Secretary.
The Chief Guest for the evening Mr. Trevor Mendis, Chief Executive Officer of IIHE, addressing the gathering emphasized the importance of “networking and improving relationships” in the contemporary world and urged the Roatactors to enhance their network to help the society. Also the event concluded with an amazing entertainment item performed by the young rotaractors of IIHE (students) and with fellowship. There was as greater turnout of Rotaractors around the all the clubs in the Rotaract year 2014/2015.
