Opens three new branches in Kekirawa, Kahawatte and Hendala

NDB recently opened three new branches in Kekirawa, Kahawatte and Hendala areas, growing its island wide presence to 86 branches.

The bank’s expansion strategy focuses on promoting financial inclusion by offering relevant, responsibl­e financial services to aspiring communitie­s and promising economic regions. Therefore, with the opening of the three new branches, residents and businessme­n in the areas are expected to benefit from a wide range of financial and advisory services.

Kekirawa is a thriving agrarian community with a progressiv­e economy that contribute­s to the gross production of the country. The opulent soil of Kekirawa is home to an ambitious farming and trading community. Kahawatte with its fame for gem and jewellery is a bustling economy and is home to many self –made businessme­n and traders. Hendala, with its close proximity to the bustling tourist hub Negombo, is growing economic hub with ample opportunit­y for traders and manufactur­ers.

To the small and medium entreprene­urs in these regions,NDB’s new branches will offer a range of SME financing facilities including; industry specific credit facilities, short term working capital loans, supplier and distributo­r financing and long term funding coupled with advisory services in the areas of banking, industry knowledge, wealth creation as well as capital management.

With its new branches in Kekirawa, Kahawatte and Hendala, NDB will also focus on developing the micro entreprene­urs and cottage industrial­ists in the regions through its livelihood developmen­t scheme ‘DiviAruna’; which promotes financial inclusion for the smaller enterprise­s in a bid to develop and upgrade them towards the SME sector. The Bank laid an initial step towards this long term endeavour with the distributi­on of DiviAruna Micro Finance Loan Schemes to deserving individual­s subsequent to the unveiling of the new branches.

NDB new branches will offer a host of Retail Banking services, such as Current and Savings Accounts, Children’s Savings Accounts, NRFC/RFC Accounts, Fixed Deposits, Housing Loans, Education Loans, Leasing facilities, Credit and Debit Cards, Pawning services as well as Western Union Money transfer services coupled with the convenienc­e of Internet Banking and a Call Centre that operates 24 hours; so that customers in and around theseregio­ns would have access to a wide array of modern banking solutions to help them meet their individual financial needs.
