‘Cinnamon Bey’ is positioned as a five star resort under the Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts banner and meant to encapsulate the essence of Cinnamon coupled with its sig- ture indulgence features. But Bey, which many may believe is a moniker for Beruwala, is in reality the title placed upon the first three rulers of the Ottoman Empire and hence, denotes the double pronged meaning of Cinnamon Bey not only bearing the laurels of a leader in hospitality but also, imbues the flavour of the Arabic heritage that Cinnamon Bey espouses.

Cinnamon Bey is named with reference to the history of the area and is the term ‘bey’ used to address provincial nobleman of the Turkish Empire.

‘The specialty of Cinnamon Bey will be the variety of dining venues that guests can choose from, each with a view of the sea. An extensive range of eight outlets catering to varied paletes, using different culinary methods borrowed from numerous cultures around the world including self cooking at ‘Rock Salt’ restaurant, which can be experienced for the first time in Sri Lanka’ he added.

This large five star resort boasts 200 rooms including The 170 superior rooms with basic facilities, 28 deluxe rooms and two suites that are abundant with space and luxury. Deluxe rooms and Suites are complete with its own terrace and Jacuzzi and are located on a separate wing which has its own secluded private swimming pool, restaurant and bar. The suites exemplify the exuberance of the Middle Eastern influence.

The rooms are spread to the north and south, while interestingly, the thirty deluxe rooms and two grand suites with its panoramic views of the sea from the bathrooms and extralarge balconies work on a ‘hotel within a hotel’ concept, located in the north wing and housing a separate lounge, VIP check-in and customised swimming pool.

Cinnamon Bey, Beruwala is the first ever resort hotel in Sri Lanka to include eight food and beverage outlets which cater to a variety of Asian and International paletes or simply the one stop place for a global culinary carnival.
