The Rainbow Institute of Communication and English, www.rainbow. lk , at 44/1, Haig Road, Bambalapitiya, is now enrolling children for the eighth batch of its’ popular training on Public Speaking for Leadership and Personality Development for Juniors. (boys and girls aged 8-14 years)

This interactive and fun filled programme provides intensive personalized coaching over a duration of 30 hours and is scheduled on Saturdays, from 9.30 am – 11.30 am OR from 1.00 pm- 3.00 pm . It will commence on Saturday 11th June, 2016

Following the success of similar courses conducted for adults by the Rainbow Institute, the special course for children was introduced due to the numerous requests made by parents and teachers for a course for children and teenagers who are fluent in English and want to shine as leaders with confidence in public speaking, debating, oratory, drama etc

The course empowers participants to make an impact in their educational and social environment by, becoming confident and powerful public speakers . It develops their skills in critical thinking and ability to face challenges. It also enhances their general knowledge and awareness of current affairs .

COURSE DIRECTOR

The course is directed by eminent University academic, Dr. Mahim Mendis, B.A (Kelaniya), M.A (Lancaster) UK; M.Phil (Leicester) UK; PhD (NUS) Singapore , Post Doctoral Scholar, Northern Illinois University and University of Massachusetts, USA .

Dr Mahim Mendis, a product of St Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia specializing in Organizational Development and Communication. He has been mentoring and teaching undergraduate and post graduate students in Sri Lanka and abroad for three decades. Dr. Mendis has been the Spokesman of the Federation of University Teachers Associations (FUTA), fighting for professional rights of university lecturers in fifteen national universities in Sri Lanka. His speeches were given wide exposure by the media during him a reputation as a courageous speaker in English and Sinhala.

Dr Mendis is supported by a team of dynamic trainers with high credentials.
