A platform for shining starts
The popular Singhalese Sports Club ( SSC) Tennis Tournament commenced on May 4 and it will continue until May 20 at the SSC courts in Colombo. This tournament conducted by the SSC, attracts many talented young players, and this will help them to polish their rough edges in the game.
This year there are 22 events in the tournament, 18 draws, 552 entries and 353 players are participating.
The most entries have been received for the boys Under-14 Singles with 89 entries. The 22 events, are Girls and Boys Under- 12, Under- 14, Under- 16 and Under- 18 Singles and Doubles, Women’s and Men’s Singles and Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Veterans Over-35, Over-45 and Over-55 Doubles.
The games played so far have been exciting and nail biting.

Quarter- final: Medhini Samarasinghe beat Janali Manamperi 6-0, 6-1.
